New Midwinter Jerseys

Dear Reader,
Here in Nelson we are still having some fine sunny days, ideal for biking, but winter is just around the corner, and with this in mind, I have introduced three new winter jerseys. The jerseys are embroidered and if you are interested in high visibility, have a look at the high vis yellow jersey with royal blue chest panel, collar and cuffs. The electric blue jersey is also very visible and the ink jersey with ruby collar, cuffs and chest panel is a very retro look. The high vis yellow and electric blue jerseys are made witha 270gm merino ideal for cold weather, and the ink/ruby jerseys are in my usual 240gm merino, also great for colder weather. Prices are $185 each.
Have a good winter out on the bike.
Regards,

My Mongoose Randonneur Touring Bike

My latest Bike and new Special Order

Hello,

Well Christmas is over and the New Year is well into its first month.

Aspiring Cyclewear has been selling well at the Nelson Market to both New Zealanders and overseas visitors.

The new special order is going to Australia and has a white embroidered Aspiring Cyclewear across the chest panel, plus it has knitted collar and cuffs.

I am the proud new owner of a Mongoose Randonneur touring bike. It is a refurbished bike and I think will give me many happy hours touring. The first two small trips I would like to do are from Nelson to Tapawera avoiding Spooners Range by turning off to the Golden Downs road and over a saddle and out on the main road near Kohatu. Down the road to Tapawera for the night and maybe explore the country roads round the area. Then next day ride down the Motueka Valley to Woodstock and through to Dovedale and Thorp then through to Wakefield via Pigeon Valley. There will be a bit of gravel but mainly it will be tarmac. I have armadillo Infinity Specialized tyres which look as if they will be a good compromise giving a bit of grip on gravel and fast enough on the tarmac.

Golden Bay is next on the agenda. I went there last year on my mountain bike hoping to go over to the Westhaven Inlet to Paterau a wild West Coast beach with rural scenery and wild ocean beaches. Unfortunately the wind was really bad last year and I only got as far as Pakawau on the Golden Bay side. Still lovely, but I would like to have another go at doing the full trip. Golden Bay is a wonderful place to ride. Beautiful beaches and inland there are bush clad hills and river valleys with old goldmining sites to explore. From Collingwood the trip up the valley to Bainham and beyond is definitely worthwhile, and there is a wonderful cafe, the Naked Possum nearby for lunch. Also a stop at the Bainham store is a must. This is the area where the Heaphy Track starts on the Golden Bay side if you are into tramping.

Happy Biking!

Cheers,
Rosemary Weir

This is a new colour offered in the midwinter weight jerseys. It is also available in ruby in both men's and women's sizes. It is made to order so there may be a time delay in receiving the order and completion. There are a few sizes in stock, and the delivery time will be quoted upon receipt of the order. The colour in the photo is dark charcoal, a very smart looking jersey which will look as good on the bike as in the cafe after the ride. If you want to be more visible on the bike ruby is an eyecatching red ( see my New Samples under Special Promotions, on the website). I also have a couple of men's sizes in steel available.

Hi Everyone,
Here are photos of four new jerseys produced for a special order. The jerseys with contrasting chest panel and sleeves have the Aspiring Cyclewear logo embroidered across the front and back chest panels. They look very effective, I am really pleased with the result.
The plain colour jerseys have black knitted collars and cuffs which gives a great fit again a very pleasing improvement.
If you are interested in any of these options please contact me.
Cheers,
Rosemary Weir
